Visiting PhD Student Teaches Science

Sarah Barr, a visiting PhD student and scientist, taught students at the Balboa International Education partner school Dongguan Hanlin Experimental School how to extract DNA from strawberries. Students were excited to learn from Sarah, who is the daughter of the BIE High School Dual Diploma Literature teacher. One students said, "This is why I joined this program, everyday we are learning in an exciting and different way. This is much better than any Chinese class ever would be." Another student said, "It is really great to meet the family of our teacher, it makes the students and teacher feel close and makes us want to work even harder."
